Tech Session #1

Blockchain: the ultimate bypassing. New Eldorado for mobility or just a buzz?

Will the blockchain keep its promises of revolution or is it a buzz to demystify? Will it transform our mobility? Is blockchain confidence the cornerstone of tomorrow's intelligent mobility?

Since a few months, blockchain has become a trendy word, is on all the newsletters you receive, going beyond the circles of experts and even appearing in the general public talks.

Blockchain is a data storage and transmission technology that has three main factors that make it different of what may otherwise exist: it is transparent, secure, and operates without a centralized supervisory board. Simple at first sight, this principle defines what is announced as a cross-sectoral revolution comparable to the invention of the Internet: supply chain, real estate, insurance, are among the sectors in which the blockchain impacts are often-quoted examples. Mobility would be a particularly good ground for blockchain applications. The blockchain could be used to "uberise Uber" or to set up autonomous transport platforms.

Tech Session #2

Smart Grid: the key for electric mobility solutions ?

How will smart grids work tomorrow? How will they deal with the explosion of electromobility? What are the experiments in progress? What business model must we work with in the future?

The rise of electric vehicles is a groundswell that will require adapting the charging infrastructure. The thousands of electric vehicles that will simultaneously strain distribution systems will have major impact and solutions must be conceived today.

As an alternative to massive network reinforcement, smart grids will have to deal with these new constraints as well as the growing use of intermittent energies.

In addition, the battery storage capacity of electric vehicles could provide energy management solutions within homes, but this will require a complex management between public and domestic networks.

Tech session #3

Following the session, visit the ESTACA laboratories and Fablab

ESTACA'LAB research activities on intelligent, clean and safe transport; illustration through industrial projects and collaborations

ESTACA is highly specialized in the fields of aeronautics, automotive, space and guided transport industries. The training courses constantly evolve to meet the requirement of companies and adapt to the emergence of new technologies or disciplines.

ESTACA’s graduates undertake the design, development and production of transport systems and components. The school’s expertise is well recognized by the industry, which has ranked it among the best engineering schools for the quality of its graduates.

Visit ESTACA's Lab and Fablab, discover our research topics on innovative technologies for transport and mobility: green transportation innovations, sustainability, smart and adapted to new mobilities.

ESTACA'LAB research activities on intelligent, clean and safe transport; illustration through industrial projects and collaborations:

  • Fault control strategies for autonomous vehicle pacification
  • Collaborative design of embedded automotive mechatronics systems
  • Characterization and analysis of pollutants resulting from automotive transport infiltrating vehicle cabins
  • Acceptability study of a bike trajectory choice based on AIR QUALITY criterion
