During EVS26, DBT and MATRA have shown their know-how by introducing the Bat-Lib system, an innovative battery swapping station for e-scooters.
Suitable for commercial fleet owners, rental companies and electric vehicle sharing programs, the Bat’Lib swappig station allows a user to exchange an empty battery for a full one in less than 10 seconds rather than waiting a few hours for the empty one to recharge.
Very compact, the Bat’Lib swapping station features up to 10 battery chargin ports and its small footprints minimizes space requirements. The system can be limited to registered users through an RFID system.
The batteries used in the swapping station shown at EVS26 are Lithium batteries (LiNiMnCoO2) also developed by MATRA for its e-scooter range.
With each a weight of 7,9kg for a capacity of 1125Wh (48V/23,4Ah) and with over 1.500 charge cycles, these batteries are already available for B to B market and will soon be assembled by MATRA on its industrial site in Romorantin.
After five years of collaboration between MATRA and ALLCELL Technologies (based in Chicago IL), these batteries use a passive thermal management technology based on a phase change material which extends battery circle life and enhances safety. They are certified IATA and UL94 VO.
Compact and light, the batteries can be used for various electric mobility applications, including for professional tools and vehicles.
